What it is
The T42S is a business desk phone with up to twelve phone lines, a backlit black-and-white screen, programmable keys and gigabit network ports. It has a USB port for an optional headset or wireless adapter. It's part of Yealink's T4S series, the generation before the current T5 phones.
Why you'd want it
- Handles a busy desk: hold, transfer and juggle several calls at once.
- Fast for your computer: gigabit pass-through keeps the PC behind it at full speed.
- Clear calls: HD Voice and a full-duplex speakerphone.
- Room to add: USB port for an optional headset or wireless adapter.
Do you need it?
Choose it for people who take a steady flow of calls: sales, dispatch, office managers. Light users can save with the T41S or T40G. If you want a color screen, look at the T46S; for the current generation with the same job, the T53. This model ships without a power supply: it takes power from your network switch over the network cable (PoE, Power over Ethernet). If your switch doesn't provide PoE, add the Yealink power supply or a PoE injector to your order.
How it works with Plan V
One phone per desk on a Plan V seat. We set it up for your Plan V service before it ships, so it works when you plug it in: your extension, voicemail and line keys ready to go. Add Device Warranty for unlimited replacements.
