What it is

The T18 is a very simple business phone with one line, a small black-and-white screen and a standard keypad. It's an older Yealink model. It doesn't take power from the network cable (no PoE), so it plugs into a wall outlet with a power adapter.

Why you'd want it

• As simple as it gets: pick up and dial, nothing to learn.
• Low cost: ideal for spots that see only a few calls.
• Good for shared spaces: lobby, break room, warehouse wall or front-door courtesy phone.
• Your system's features: it still reaches every extension on your phone system.

Do you need it?

Only for places that need a basic phone and nothing more. For a desk where someone works every day, choose at least the T21P E2 or T23G for clearer sound and more lines. Because it has no PoE, make sure you have a power adapter and an outlet nearby.
