Peec AI Completes SOC 2 Type II Examination, Making Its AI Search Visibility Platform Fully Enterprise-Ready
Peec AI’s SOC 2 Type II report is useful, but it is not a security warranty
Peec AI announced on October 30, 2026, that it completed an independent SOC 2 Type II examination for its AI search visibility platform. Prescient Assurance LLC reviewed the company’s controls under the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Trust Services Criteria for Security and found that those controls operated effectively from March 30 through June 30, 2026.
That is a meaningful vendor milestone. It is not a reason to hand over your IT budget without asking questions.
What Prescient Assurance actually reviewed
SOC 2 Type II is different from a checklist completed in a single afternoon. The examination looks at whether stated controls worked during an observation period. In Peec AI’s case, that period lasted three months.
The review covered the platform’s application backend, public API, data services, and supporting processes. The announcement also describes controls involving encryption, monitoring, security testing, and business continuity. Prescient Assurance reported that the controls operated effectively throughout the examination period.
That gives a business owner something better than a vendor’s promise. An independent CPA firm examined the service and issued an opinion about security controls in operation.
There is still a missing piece. The announcement does not say whether the report contained exceptions, and it does not identify every control tested. We would ask for the actual SOC 2 report or a current bridge letter before treating the result as settled.
Why this can help a small business buy Peec AI
Vendor reviews slow down software purchases. A customer, insurer, or business partner may ask where data is stored, how access is managed, and whether an outside party has reviewed the provider’s security practices. A recent SOC 2 Type II report can answer part of that packet without forcing Peec AI to start from scratch for every prospect.
Peec AI also reports more than 3,500 brands and agencies using its service. Its listed enterprise features include SAML single sign-on, unlimited seats, and role-based access. Those features matter more than the phrase “enterprise-ready” for a company with several employees sharing marketing data and an outside agency managing campaigns.
For a 30-person company, SAML may not be urgent if one person uses the platform once a month. Role-based access becomes more useful when marketing, sales, leadership, and an agency all need different permissions.
What the report does not protect
SOC 2 is about a service provider’s controls. It does not secure your Microsoft 365 accounts, laptops, Wi-Fi, firewall, or employees’ passwords. It does not stop someone from approving a fake invoice or uploading sensitive information into the wrong tool.
It also does not prove that Peec AI is the right business purchase. A clean control examination cannot tell us whether the platform produces useful visibility data, fits the marketing team’s workflow, or earns its subscription cost.
We would separate the decision into two questions. First, can Peec AI protect the data and access it receives? The SOC 2 result is a positive answer, subject to reviewing the report. Second, should the company use Peec AI? That requires a trial, a data review, and a clear owner for the account.
What we would ask before approving the subscription
We would request the SOC 2 Type II report from Peec AI, not just the announcement. We would check the report dates, any exceptions, the systems included, and whether the service being sold today matches the service examined between March 30 and June 30, 2026.
We would then limit the first rollout. Use SAML if it is available in the selected plan. Assign named owners. Give users only the access they need. Turn off accounts when employees or agencies leave. Do not place customer records, confidential contracts, or unrelated company files into the platform just because the vendor passed an examination.
The news lowers one barrier in vendor review. It does not change the need for basic account security or a sensible data policy.
Ask Peec AI for the complete SOC 2 report and have your IT provider review it before procurement signs. IT911Now can help with that review, access setup, and the surrounding Microsoft 365 and endpoint controls.
