Step-by-step guides for common tasks on IT911Now systems. Follow the format shown in the sample guide when adding a new How-To.
Category
Purpose
How-To's are short, focused, step-by-step guides for a single task — logging in to a system, completing a routine change, or performing a common configuration. They differ from Runbooks (which handle incidents) and Admin Docs (which describe policy and structure).
Standard format
- Overview — one or two sentences on what the guide accomplishes and who it is for.
- Prerequisites — access, roles, or tools the reader needs before starting.
- Steps — numbered actions, each starting with a verb. Include screenshots inline where they help.
- Verification — how to confirm the task succeeded.
- Troubleshooting — common pitfalls and how to recover.
