What it is

The T53W is the same current-generation desk phone as the T53, with up to twelve lines and a large black-and-white screen, plus Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built in. Bluetooth lets you pair a wireless headset or your mobile phone; Wi-Fi lets the phone connect where there's no network cable.

Why you'd want it

• Wireless headsets: pair a Bluetooth headset and walk around while you talk.
• Place it anywhere: connect over Wi-Fi when there's no network jack at the desk.
• Pair your mobile: see and take mobile calls through the desk phone.
• Current generation: built to stay supported for years.

Do you need it?

Choose it if you use a Bluetooth headset or need the phone on Wi-Fi. If neither applies, the plain T53 does the same job for less. For a color screen as well, look at the T54W. On Wi-Fi with no network cable there's no PoE, so you'll need the Yealink power supply. This model ships without a power supply: it takes power from your network switch over the network cable (PoE, Power over Ethernet). If your switch doesn't provide PoE, add the Yealink power supply or a PoE injector to your order.
